Because some genius scheduled the 2nd leg of Southends league 2 play off semi final, I won't be able to watch the whole of the FA Cup final.
Attempts to watch it at a bar in Southend have been scuppered also.
So I'm watching the first half at home, then hopefully the end of the game on a tv at Roots Hall.

Anyway as its the last FA cup the Millenium Stadium shall see (unless Wembleys late) and with no underdog team, its all set up to be (hopefully) a good game of football.

My prediction Arsenal 2-1 Pires to score first

Oh, and I have no respect for the FA anymore after giving the Man Of The Match award to...Rooney.

Why? Because he's English? Because he's Wayne Rooney?

Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lehmann were god-like, and personally I felt the award should have gone to the former.

But they did.

Weldone United, you made me proud yesterday. Rooney, Ronaldo were superb down the wings and Keano played like he can.

Constant performances like that next season will see us lift trophies once again. The only problem we have had this season is scoring goals and we need to overcome that to kill games off, like today.

Anyone can win on penalties and much of the time, the team that deserved to win doesn't, Arsenal hung on in there after being ripped apart most of the game without much to reply with (first shot on target on the 97 minute?)

I wont say they deserved to win - because they simply didn't.

That's all you need in a cup final, isn't it?

Things didn't go according to plan...
Watched the first half on tv at home, listened to most of the second half on the radio, arrived at Southend midway through extra time and couldn't get into the bar to watch the last 15 minutes.
Then had the penalties relayed by phone then momments later over the grounds tannoy.

Then had to go through another 90 minutes (+4) of the playoff semi final.
Ended 1-0 to Southend, so I'll be off to Cardiff next weekend :)

I cried for half an hour after those damn penalties finished.

Yes, United didn't take their chances (and damn there were loads, compared to Arsenal's 1) but in the end, the best team on the day, lost.

Arsenal should be damn grateful the have Lehmen, because without him United would have been 2-0 up at half time. He was the ONLY arsnla player who played well today, compared to 11 for United. Any Arsenal fans should thank their lucky stars that the only player on form was the one that was in the right position to stop us scoring.

Just make sure you keep the trophey clean to give it back to us next year, OK?

Reyes was on a last warning after the bad tackle on silvestre (should have gone for that really)

Not sure. Didn't look like a yellow card offence, but who really cares?

heh, taking the highbury game out of consideration (where you expect the home time to have a few shots on target) arsenal only had 2 shots on target in 210 mins of football against united!
