Went to an early morning showing which started at 1am this morning (which made me feel exceptionally geeky not to mention tired this morning) and speaking in the style of master Yoda, "like it you will".
George Lucas has nearly, very nearly, redeemed himself for the monumental balls-up that is EP1. The battle scenes (of which there are probably too many if you want to be overly critical, but I guess it is set during a war) are just stunning, the lightsaber fights are fantastic, and the Star Wars atmosphere is overall a bit more like the original series of films. The way the film ties all the ends together to set it up for A New Hope is also done brilliantly, and it left me with quite a satsified feeling to finally see the kind of closure we all knew was coming.
I'll leave the long-winded reviews which break down every aspect of the film in microscopic detail to others, and simply say it was a darn enjoyable film, not quite sure if you'd ever say it was better than EPs 4, 5 or 6, but it certainly dumps over EPs 1 & 2 from a very great height.
Perhaps a deleted scene/outtake? i can just see Sidius' face now...
Palpatine: " You fool Yoda! You will end up the same as your pathetic Jedi order! You are but a pitiful insect!"
Yoda: " Know you are, I do, but am I, what?"
Palpatine "........what?.............."

...ok
The Saber-fights were amazing, each and every one. I loved how Ani 'scissored' Dooku's head off especially :D
Grievous was well animated and, despite his 'breathing' problems, is very fearsome. His final battle was lovely and action-packed, nice to see a Jedi getting in such a close shave and almost losing the fight!
Am I the only one who found the Darth Vader "Noooooooo" scene laughable? I know he was genuinely emotional, I know he wasn't used to his new limbs, but it all looked so cheesy, camp and wooden.
Jar-Jar makes a return (noooo!), but he doesn't talk! (yaaaaay!).
-----------
In whole, I absolutely loved it. I can't wait for the complete DVD Box Set due out around 2018, after they've released and rereleased a number of EpI,II&III 'trilogy' boxsets :D
Tempted to download a naughty version, but it's one of those films I'll happily wait for without ruining the experience with a cruddy pirate copy.

Will you STFU? If you aren't interested in this then just buck off and don't post in this thread.

I just decided to go with the flow after some initial clumsy moments, and not be overly critical of it. Glad I decided to do so, it made it a very enjoyable experience. Still, it depends on how much enjoyment you can get out of stuff like a bloke riding a giant lizard and a coughing cyborg (who I thought was a pretty cool villian)
Still, would a cyborg with obvious breathing difficulties expose himself deliberately to vac.....no, don't think, just enjoy it for what it is....

Isn't it? It's almost impossible to go see a Star Wars movie without some sort of preconception, I think I was the same. Knew that I've been burned twice before, was readying to be let down again but just had an absolutely brilliant time. By the end I was genuinely sad to see it go.
