Simplify:
(5x² + 14x - 3) / (x² - 9)
You know you can do it, I know you can do it, so how about we cut out the 'google it noob' stuff and somebody just helps me out, please.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Yeah, I'm thick, I can't do simple maths
> There's a difference between enjoying them and needing them.
Well there has been times where I've thought 'I have 6 sweets in my left hand and 9 in my right, how many would I have if I ate 3 and shared the rest between my 4 friends'
It's at times like that, when I've thanked my lucky stars that I revised for my Maths GCSE.
For top/competitive careers you need high grades. It's not about being able to do stuff that's useful, it's to show you can understand and solve difficult concepts.
A lot of people might not ever need to know mathematical concepts, but if no-one was given the chance to learn those things and find out if they were interested in them or not, we wouldn't have any "brainiacs" and you wouldn't be sitting at your computer typing on this forum.

My mate does, but he's an analytical research chemist so you expect them to need that stuff. Even he doesn't simplify equations.
Simplify an equation? Why? What's the point? Unless you decide to become a brainiac and work for a shadowy government agency, this is stuff you'll never apply in life.
Guess what? I've never needed to know how fast a train was going by working out the distance and time involved.
I've never ever had to work out the area of a triangle. I've not once, ever, at all, even slightly needed to know the mass of an object by the amount of water displaced.
Exams = 90% forgettable crap.
Hell, put you got all A's on your CV, nobody bothers to ask you for the certificates.
