Never liked this "comedy". Fail to see what's so great about it. The fact that Gervais is a tool doesn't help its cause.

You mean when he laughs in a way that seems to imply he may be laughing either properly or ironically (Sp?*) at the same time?

Gervais' laugh in real life is the most irritating thing ever.

Found out what that program was:

How Do You Want Me?

Obviously a what?!

I've seen Gervais on Parkinson and Letterman, and thought he was superb. Open, relaxed, honest, humble, down too earth, and naturally very funny.

For the record, I'd say the Office is probably the best British TV show for many years. I watched the first episode when it was first on, and it blew me away. Obviously some people just don't get it, and they never will, but it's so encouraging that a show like this did so well (DVD sales etc). I just hope Gervais's new thing 'Extras' isn't a big let-down.

I don't think so.

I think it was called 'dissapointment' or something :D

It was very grim and very different.

I think the darkest comedy I've seen on the beeb was by the writer of 'Men Bahaving Badly' about that guy who moves with his wife to the countryside and everyone rips the pee out of him constantly.

It was on BBC2 a while back.

You should write some comedy then.

Everything's been stolen from somewhere else anyway - it's just the same thing each time but told using different situations, people and time periods.

It really is down to what you enjoy doing really. Personally I don't bother with 'peer pressure' and all that crap. Do what you want to and things will fall into place.
