Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth the attitude of the people at the time and then Jesus came along and said that instead they should just turn the other cheek?

I don't believe in christian God because:
Natural suffering. (tsunami/earthquakes)

Also, The Bible is so ambiguous. Someone could interpret the Bible in a completely contrasting way to that of the christian way.
However, it's good to believe in God. It gives people hope, a reason to live life to the full.
