Sad, but true. We're just a collection of cells that evolved into wht we are today, and the nature of this kind of thing is to find a way to survive. Read Bill Bryson's excellent "A Short History of Nearly Everything", it's very interesting, and explains clearly how we came to be. We're nothing really, just got lucky.
