And the fact that Microsoft have a competitively priced console, good second party games (Microsoft BOUGHT bungie so that Halo will be on Xbox... what about Sony?) and a very well built console. On top, they have huge marketting and a good list of supporting developers.
Of course, Sony didn't enter the market with all of the above and kill the competition?
And the reply to this topic:
OH NO! But it's made my MS! Kill Bill and all that!

Indeed... let us see. I'm betting £299 and £299... or less.

Actually, like Nintendo, MS has just started on its new UK HQ... a HUGE site near cmabridge that will distribute all MS products to Europe as well as the UK... in er-no's words: ":p"
Sonic
By your own admittion, Nintendo has NEVER had a UK centre during any of it's consoles' lives in the past. That is a fact (Nintendo UK was only set up a couple of months ago, so has not affected the N64 as it is already at the end of its life).
Sega did not have it's own UK centre during the DC's history. The fact they had one is of no relavence.
So we can agree that MS is not dissadvantaged in any way.

Now, as far as price conversion. The DC and all of nintendo's consoles have used the conversion rate £1=$1. Fact. So the DC started life at £200 and $200... same goes for every Nintendo consoles.
NONE of these consoles had a UK base in their lifetimes (except the N64 thing that I have explained). So why can MS not do the same? They, like Sega, when they had no UK division, and Nintendo, before Nintendo UK came about, will use independant distributers. So why not have the price of £299 and $299 in the uk and america as the start prices??? Answer, there is no reason for them not to do this.

Right... they are a company. The same thing is true of every games company ever. They want to make money. They cannot do this by making the price higher than the PS2... they will never sell consoles in the wake of the well established PS name.

Finally, I have concluded that the bias against MS has made er-no think that they will use a different price pattern/distribution means/games sales technique compared with every other games company. Fact is, MS are just like Sony 5 years back.

Lets have a look at the facts,

Well, nintendo only opened their division a couple of months ago? So why weren't all N64 games not higher prices (except the $1=£1 idea) than the US games?
Sega didn't have their own division in the UK for the whole of the DCs life, yet games have been the same price (bar the £1=$1 deal) as the Us counterparts.
Both Sega an Nintendo used independant distributers (THE games and I can't remember Segas). So why shoudl MS (who are using an independant distributer) keep the same £=$ price?????Er-no???
Sonic
Neither Sega, Nintendo nor MS have a proper

Lets have a look at the facts, Nintendo recently have started a UK base division, this will coperate heavily with the BIG CHEESES in Japan and America, Sega used to have a UK base in Wandsworth in SW London, names the Sonic Centre it closed in 1994, but Microsoft have never had a UK base....
Look... New Jimmy is on to something... XBOX IS LIKE

If that is so, then why are Microsoft not calling it a console and calling it a ''new-home entertainment system for all the family'', also was the original PS worth £249.99 ummmm.... considering each PS churned out of the factory cost £16 I really don't think so....
Why is it so hard for you to understand that the price may change....
