And the fact that Microsoft have a competitively priced console, good second party games (Microsoft BOUGHT bungie so that Halo will be on Xbox... what about Sony?) and a very well built console. On top, they have huge marketting and a good list of supporting developers.
Of course, Sony didn't enter the market with all of the above and kill the competition?
And the reply to this topic:
OH NO! But it's made my MS! Kill Bill and all that!

It's important to remember that Sega had a similat scheme with BT... and that did a fat lot of good!

I would think that closer to the X-box UK launch, Microsoft may use its connections to get people onto a broadband internet through the X-box for only £10 a month (Broadband costs £20 a month currently through NTL).
At the end of the day Microsoft dont care how much you pay to get online aslong as you use their software/hardware to do so. This gives them control and therefore MONEY!

The PS2 will be no more feasible online than the DC...

And the idea of broadband PS2... how many

That would automatically exclude about 98% of the country as hardly anyone has broadband access. It would seem to me to be absolute silliness to not release a standard modem as well.
Companies are still experimenting with modems and games, chu chu rocket was a simple game which was an experiemnt by Sega, sadly the information they collected from this still managed to not aid the Dreamcast on its deathbed. Luckily I know Sega collected a lot of information from Chu Chu Rocket and are letting other companies have a look at the fact and figures, lets hope the majority of companies choose to go with the 'majority' of the public and leave the modem as a offical add-on, this is the better option in my opinion as the gamer gets to choose if he wants it and doesn't have to pay for it when he buys the console.. just a word of warning buy offical no matter the price difference..
Thanks
er-no
The nuclear waste that thet shoved into will melt it and the gamers who are playing them will become radioactive and then Microsoft will be taken to court and lose all their money.
HHAAAA BAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH HAAAAAAAAAAa
The Xbox will be marketted solely as a games console. If you want it to play DVDs u can buy an upgrade pack... this will have the DVD driver (probably fits to the back of the console) and a remote control. It will have proper DVD features.
As for the modem... most likely the same as the PS2- buy a broadband upgrade... not great seeing as no one in the UK has broadband!
Sonic
Is this true? If it is, i hope they release one with a modem as well. The majority of homes in the UK dont have broadband access. MS could lose out on a large number of sales if it was broadband or nothing. However, that fact that MS has shares in NTL should be seen as a plus.
What 'net connection does the PS2 have? I know a broadband add-on is coming out, but is that it? Hardly anyone in the UK will be able to use it. It seems a bit of a waste of time to me. I would have thought that they would bring out a modem as well, or does the PS2 already have one?
Kingpin 2, rumoured to be a next-gen game... all I have heard is at the beginning of the game you choose which one you killed in the first game (Kingpin or Woman) and then you are that living person and you have to take revenge on the yourself.... WICKED. a bit confusing, but those who played the original should understand.
