Went really well, wasn't nervous, and even ad-libbed on loads of bits. Was a Christmas/New Year/Leaving party for the singer's work. Did loads of 60's and 70's rock songs, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves which is the important thing. Guitarist made a few fluffs, but I think he'd had a bit to drink to calm his nerves. Drummer was amazing, never seen him play as confidently as that. Every beat was perfect, considering he hits his hi-hat thousands of times, and makes loads of rolls, he didn't even drop at all. I didn't make any mistakes either, but I only played bass as a favour (even though I added my own little tricks to songs). Good night, good atmosphere, good songs, good company - can't ask for more really. We ro>

Stage? We played on the floor with the mortals. I even had to avoid people trying to get past!

You're an unreliable witness, I saw you looking at that statue all night.

I actually never heard the U2 song at all, outside of the annoying iPod adverts. First time I heard it in it's entirety was today, after the gig where we played it as our finale.

Had a bit of a panic. 5:50, 3 hours before we went on, my amp pops and nothing comes out of it. Let it cool down, but the speaker cone must have got busted during transport, as I never had a single problem in the whole 4 months of rehearsals (sounds like a long time, but we had 2 hours each week, not long at all really). Considered forking out £200+ for a new one, as we had 10 minutes to make it to the town, but luckily the guitarist had bought a new amp about a month before and we managed to pass his old guitar amp off as a bass amp.

Not a single problem for all that time, then 3 hours before we play *bang* gone. No-one noticed though, and it's a good excuse to treat myself to a new amp and bass guitar (it wasn't mine, I'm a guitarist by first instrument).
