:D
I have about a limited wannabe's knowledge of guitars, like I know what guitar I've got and that it's a strat and stuff but; what the hell are these things/what do they do:
Pick-up
Redresss the frets
Grub screws
Tone Pot
Also, anyone know any places on the web that tell you how to play?
Ican struggle my way through tabs but that's about it. No money can be expended by the way.

then learn to play it better.

that doesn't make the bass boring, that makes it played by boring PEOPLE :)
check out Les Claypool, the guy from Sikth and Matt Freeman from Rancid for examples of how to make bass playing interesting.

You're really annoying.
No offence or anything.

Yes but it is possible to make an interesting bass line instead of just blending in and following the guitar all the time.

THat's because they get the crappy job - guitarists and drummers get huge solos and the frontman gets all the attention, but the bassist has to repeat a riff for ages.
Doesn't mean they don't enjoy it, watch Dazed and Confused live at the Royal Albert Hall by Led Zeppelin, after Jimmys amazing viotar (you'll know what I mean if you watch it) solo, John-Paul Jones gets my attention because of the amount of energy he appears to be putting into playing 7 notes over and over and over again.
