That you realise that you know nothing about them.
:D

I have about a limited wannabe's knowledge of guitars, like I know what guitar I've got and that it's a strat and stuff but; what the hell are these things/what do they do:

Pick-up
Redresss the frets
Grub screws
Tone Pot

Also, anyone know any places on the web that tell you how to play?

Ican struggle my way through tabs but that's about it. No money can be expended by the way.

Pickups = those things below the strings with little metal circular thingies in them.

Get a "guitar for beginners" book.

It'll really help.

Use guitar pro.
Plays your tabs in MIDI, including bass and drums.

You can set the tempo and stuff, so it's useful for playing along slowly and working your way up to speed.

You can wade in from the shallow end, or dive in deep. Your choice.

I got given some software with it, but blow me if you can get it to work.

It's by Dorling Kindersley...

:D HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

If I can get it up and running it'd be great.

Shallow I think.

I just wanna be able to play my favorite tunes and stuff and then see if I really take to it before I get lessons or pump money into it.

10/10
Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Very pleased
Very pleased with the help given by your staff. They explained technical details in an easy way and were patient when providing information to a non expert like me.
