I see it dominated the british comedy awards, how depressing, a program which is about as fun as finding out you have TB, cancer and AIDS and running your own personal sweepstake on which will kill you first. No offence but this programme is moronic. I am not sensitive to this kind of thing, but they get away with a lot, I wouldn't mind if it was actually relatively funny. Hahahahahaha we will try and take the pisss out of disabled people in the least funny way possible whilst spawning the most stupid and annoying catchphrases ever. If you want to make humour of of the situations at least make it vaguely funny, Timargh in south park is pretty amusing and is related to the same subject matter, thats because they try to actually be funny and slapstick rather than constantly see how much they can get away with.

At what point did screaming "i'm the only gay in the village" make for hilarious viewing? pure bull.

the only thing in little britain i ever at anypoint found amusing was the pikey girl. It was related well to real life and was done pretty well and was amusing the first time you saw it, maybe even the second time. But after that its limited comical value was worn out.

I appreciate that the BBC feels obliged to waste as much of the licence fee as it humanly can, and that bigging up little britain in some way seems to justify the existence of BBC 3, but lets be honest it is bullcrap of the highest order.

I am more than happy to watch mindless crap, low budget productions, hardly any subject is taboo with me, I am a pisshead student for godsake! but this has to be the most over rated programme in the history of television, not clever, not witty, and shitte. those awards better not have been voted for, otherwise this country is in a worse state than i thought (and i am an optimist!)

It's one of my favourite comedys, why?

Why is this post even here anyway? If you don't like Little Britain, don't watch it, it's not that difficult to change the channel on your television, surely?

Sketch shows have never been that great though have they?

Take the Fast Show for example, you could guess with 95% accuracy what jokes you would see in any given episode, it's merely the location or subject matter that varies - the punchline is always the same.

For that reason I can't ever see a sketch show being better than a sitcom (unless it's something dire), which is why The Office christmas specials should have easily won over Little Britain for whatever category they were in together. Those two episodes are funnier than all of Little Britain combined.

I was hoping someone would mention that, it was actually genuinely funny though and had decent characters rather than a moronic hotch potch of crap.

Little Britain's disgustingly overrated. I mean, it's barely hilarious in the same way that Red Dwarf is. I think any enjoyment I could've gotten out of it was quickly quashed by the ammount of people I know who quote the damn thing. Oh, and it's so sodding repetitive.

But it is the amount of variation that is important. Little Britain has very little variation between episodes meaning that the jokes quickly tire but Harry Enfield, for example, used larger variation for the characters to create fresher shows.

You could watch many episodes of Harry Enfield and Chums back to back but if you tried watching a Little Britain marathon it would become very boring very quickly.

What I hate is the fact that people think they are 'the better one' because they don't find 'mainstream' shows such as Little Britain funny.

Little Britain is just a series of sketch's with variations of the same jokes. But it's Matt Lucas and David Walliams who make it so great, it's funny yet strange. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

Remember Harry Enfield and Chums? That had the same format as Little Britain and most of the jokes seemed to be repeated.
