OMG it's 4.10am and my animation is still rendering :( i still have to put all my mocies together and add music. Then at 8.20am get up and walk in to uni for a 4 hour lecture in which a very tired me will present my animation.

It's all been going wrong here. My 'copy' of premiere has funked up it won't let me use the mpeg 4 codec that i have to use. Now using virtual dub to put them together but this means no fading transitions :( . One of my renders failed twice which means i have to leave it out.

My presentation is a critical review of my project so far. (so far it's looking shoddy) They are going to rip me apart :( i mean yeah the smoke and the lighting rocks but cause of teh transitions i'm screwed. I was on a first for the project so far now this is going to bring me down to like a 2.1 then i just gotta hope the final version gets me another first.

My brain hurts. I have learnt that 3d animation is too unstable to leave to the night before. Theres a lesson there kidds.

If i get the time tomorrow i will post a link to my animation. It's only 30 seconds and it's for a bbc-i channel Spark. Which i happen to do student stuff for.

Well off to finish it all. Had a rant feel abit better head hurts though.

wow his stuff is great, although i don't like all the cars, not cause i think they are bad i am just tired of people doing cars.

I am currently working on a molecular science video aimed at hull university, in the hope that they wil ask me to make the whole series of lectures for them, which would be a year and a bit of work :) i am getting a grade for my degree at the same time.

Main draw back is i have to read all these books and articles about how it all works, i am going to ask to attend some lectures too.

if anyone's interested, my current projects are:

1) making my wrestler character do a couple of snazzy moves (i also did a muck about walk cycle for my own amusement in which my hulking meathead minces around like a big fairy, it's kind of a cross btween camp and goose-stepping :) )

2) i'm doing some titles, bugs and segway animations hopefully for use on some UK DVD releases.

snazzy.

what's everyone else up to?

We only started 3d work this year i used 3d max for the first time about 6 months ago and i am still very new to it as you can tell from most of my work.

With the fire i can't decide what sort it will be probably a small fire in the bonnet of a burnt out car or maybe a gentle fire on some lumps of wood, nothing too harsh.

what kind of fire are you after?
i mean, are you after "small, controlled" fire or "big ass blaze" fire?

the colouration is definitely looking good but th shape of the fire isn't sitting right with me for some reason.. it looks off and i'm not sure why :S

natural effects are VERY hard to recreate though, i didn't realise you were year 3.. i feel better about my poor efforts now, i'm only halfway through year 2 :)
