I personnaly think it's quite good. Certainly helps shake off the childish image, anyway. Not sure about it being purple though.

I hadn`t realised that until you said it, lol! However, it takes a very anti-sony person to say that they don`t like it. The logo is very modern and pleasing to the eye. Simple, yet clever enough to show it is on top of a super console!
