Just thought this might be an interesting one.

Have a bit of a session with your mates and get to some food stuck inbetween your teeth do you try and find a tooth pick or just use the stylus?

Is there some safety concerns here?

So you're saying that the PSP can't outsell the GBASP overnight - kinda thing that you give me the impression is impossible to do.

HOWEVER...

...The Nintendo DS has outsold GBASP in terms of weekly sales figures and has outsold Nokia N-Gage and Ipod in terms of total units sold?

Top Score is STILL here?! Jesus, I stopped posting regularly on here like a year ago and he had been terrorising the rational and coherent majority for months beforehand.

Are the SR staff all in a coma or something?

I want a handheld console to play games on, i can listen to music on the go already, and i have no reason to want to watch movies on the go as i feel a laptop screen is a bit too small for that and the PSP is much smaller than that.

So what does the PSP have to offer me? The only thing i see is a bigger screen. BRB, i have seen the error of my ways and i must go and pre-order it!

It might not be compared by you, but I bet it still sells more.

yes, that's what I was saying. It's a games machine first, but you don't have any idea about the games on it.

And portable DVD players are fine, because they have 12" screens and they use DVDs. The PSP is a sub standard movie player and MP3 player, so you're paying extra for substandard machinary. If it was a pure games machine then it would be much cheaper and much better value.

But thats based on what things are like now. Nobody is going to say PSP can out sell GBA-SP overnight. On the other hand, in the future even if GBA-SP is still around in the current form, it wont be compared to PSP or DS.

I thought hand held and "in car" DVD players were highly popular at the moment. So it looks like people do like the idea.

PSP is not quite the same, its a games machine first, and movies use the UMD discs. But you can see the thinking behind it.

Same goes for mp3 playback.

Macintosh the problem is that you haven't used/played a PSP or even been near one. You think the DS looks like a kids toy, no one else does. MP3, movies on the go - they're not the sort of things that are really of any use. You need an extra £100 to have decent music storage, you need to buy UMD movies to watch them and drain your battery, so all that really matters is the games. Isn't that right?
And seeing as you've not played any of the games on either console, you're not really in a position to argue which is better.

Also, if I'd just got a GBASP for christmas, my mate wouldn't have a PSP because no one has them. Also, I would have a console with hundreds upon hundreds of games available for it, with hundreds of amazing games that you can't play anywhere else.

CD and DVD have added nothing to playing games. Online was being used by PC for ages.

> Music and movies on the move? Must be the devils instrument!

Been listening to music on the move for years now and i could watch movies with the portable DVD players...or my laptop. But even my laptop screen seems too small to actually enjoy the movie. But once again is not adding anything to gaming.

> wireless multiplayer

Yep thats a good idea, used it a few times on the GBC and nokia phones, but still the only time i used it was to actually test it.

> UMB drive, which can make use of that capacity for larger games.

Yeah thats good, if companies fill them up with content that actually matters i will see a use for it.

> Nintendo's stylus and 2 small screens
> just looks too much like a kids toy.

If ive had one i would do the same thing i do with every console...be too busy playing games to care what it looks like. Think this falls down to peer pressure than anything else, and if you are having these problems im afraid no matter what console you have will ever solve it.
