I realise that some people on this forum (including myself) are planning to go to university next year, and I figured it'd be nice to see who was going and how far they have got with their UCAS application.

I received my confirmation letter from UCAS the other day to say they have received my application, all I can do now is wait..

The university's/courses I have applied for are

University of Lincoln: Games Computing
University of Lincoln: Computing
Sheffield Hallam: Software Development (Games) - Offer - not for this course, however
Northumbira University: Computer Games Software Engineering - Offer
Nottingham Trent University: Computer Science (Games Technology) - Offer

I have received 3 offers so far.

What universitys have you applied for? Had any offers/Rejections yet?

I think people need to think more carefully about what kind of course they want to do. Look carefully at the course content and see if it suits what you want to do. I made sure I picked courses that were the kind of thing I wanted to do so I applied for some comski courses and I ended up doing compters electronics and communications. Dont do an indepth programming course if you want to design games or graphics or do reviews. if you want to review do something in journalism.

Most good unis have a high apps/places ratio.

yeah it was loughborough. Im not trying to promote bath. well. uhhhhh. lol. I was really pleased to get in cos it got something like 10:1 in applications/places. The uni is chuffed and we got surveys from them trying to work out what they did right. I never use the sport facilities here. I probably should. Its the nerds life for me.

Haha, I accidentally offended a bloke from Loughborough uni. He doesn't live in the same block as me, he was visiting a friend here, and I said whilst in the same room as him that subjects like sports science et al are "kind of non-subjects". There followed a deathly hush. I turned around to find out that he does one of those subjects, and I had previously failed to notice the Le Coq Sportif hooded sweatshirt. It came as no surprise when he said he went to Loughborough.

He was cool about it afterwards though.
