Surely if you look at cricket umpires we can draw comparisons. They are paid less, yet give unbelievably accurate decisions at 4 times the speed of football, and get harassed as much as refs at the point of decision.

Lets see i think the ref probably is bribed everytime he refs at Old Trafford, lets see, 7 pens in 7 games all to Man U, 8 Red cards in 7 games all to the other team(getting a bit fishy now), and something like 9-11 penelty decisions turned down to opposition (not man u)

Not only are they crap, but in the last three seasons two have been bought off. We've been in the process of appealing for a a ref that many believe has been bought off for two months after a particular performance at home against Aldershot this season. I almost made a post about it a couple of months ago but refrained from doing so.
Let's all be thankful that the "Bribeanator" (Urs Meier) isn't applying, or every club would fall victim to Mr. 'I can accept any payment, just ask the Portugal-boss'.

Christ, if you complain about refs in this division, you want to go to the games in the lower league, they really will give you some decisions to complain about.

I would more than happily trade the referees in the Conference with those of the Prem. There is absolutely no comparison. You'll honestly wonder if Conference referees actually have eyes.
