A very disappointing showing from our Weslh boys, and to be honest England didn't get out of second gear. 'Twas quite a boring match, and it was simply a case of 'Hello, we are England, we are basically much better than you and we are going to take this easy.'

If it weren't for a few greedy individuals our boys would have been humiliated completely. Beckham's goal was sweet mind.

And you can tell England and Wales hate each other:

'And now can we have a minute's silence please'

'F**k off Wales'

'F**k you'

etc...

Anyone else watch the match?

Good in the air doesn't matter on that occasion as it was around Rio's lower chest level. Unless you've been reading the Sol Campbell book on headers that's usually a good hoofed clearance. Should have picked him up i agree but Butt was there as well, probably didn't expect the lad to try the diving header. Plus i was merely making a joke about your Gary Breen slip up :-D

Ermm if Rio wasn't there that's a one on one with the keeps, i do think that is a major chance snuffed out. He and Campbell made an equal amount of errors, scoreline had 0 in the opposition bracket, job's a good un. At least we have a back line that can actually pass it around each other instead of lumping it forward.

Heh Chelsea bias shining through i see, but you'd still put Defoe in after his dismal showing yesterday? I'd go with the same system as Saturday with the same team but obviously with WP replacing Becks. Probably won't even need to get into first gear to beat Azerbijan

Yes I did see that I think, but I wouldn't have said it was a major chance or anything difficult that he should have been dealing with. I didn't say he had a disgraceful game, I just think he needs to play better than that to deserve his starting place.

I reckon that should be tried next match. Sven should try swapping Bridgey and Ashley Cole. Terry's the best leader in that team, BUT I'd give the armband to Campbell as he's more experienced at international level. If Azerbaijan are attacking too much, bring off Joey Cole and stick on Butt, or Rio or King or anyone but Hargreaves...

Blimey i know Rio's good but you expect him to stop a free kick that happens in the future a good few miles away over in France? :-D

I notice you make no mention on where Campbell got beat yet Rio calmly came across and got the ball cleared. Terry got dropped, he seemed to accept it and Rio and Sol did a good job. I didn't feel nervous every time the opposition came into our half of the pitch as i have done for the last few England games. Pretty funny to see Rio make a few darting runs and also when he left Giggsy for dead when he was taking it out the danger area, that shall be talked about at the United training ground me thinks. So there you go Sven problem solved, stick Rio in Nicky Butt's position and put Terry and Campbell together :-D

Butt? BUTT? Butt was appalling. It's a crying shame Scholes has retired.

I hope Wright Phillips gets a chance against Azerbaijan or I'm going to send a flour bomb to Sven.

Rio was poor today. In my opinion he needed to earn his way back into the team, and today he did not do that...

There were two noticable mistakes, one from a free-kick where Gary Speed put a diving header in at Robinson, whilst Rio stuck his leg out retardedly. The other where he should have cleared it properly but instead put it straight to Bellamy who got a shot in. Luckily, both chances were missed by Wales.

Campbell and Cole both had good games. Rooney was good at times, but often gave the ball away stupidly. Beckham was poor, did nothing other than his goal, and Owen once again was quiet. Defoe hardly touched the ball, and Butt did what he does best - fill the holes.
