Was good to hear the greatest commentating duo in all of sports Al Michaels and the legend John Madden back once again, no one can beat them.
But anyway the game, few interceptions thrown by Manning showing just how average he is and proving once more New England is not his favourite place (Vick and McNabb are far better) and Ty Law spending most of the game on the bench and when he did come on he got schooled by Marvin Harrison (and why Manning wasn't throwing to him more often i've no idea, he's your best reciever you muppet, use him) Great ending as well with McGuinness sacking him and leaving VanDerJagt with a hard field goal which he missed when he should have only had about a 35 yard attempt to knock threw the sticks.
Bring on the rest of the season
> They weren't that boring at the SUperbowl last year.
They reallly, really were.
Patriots-Panthers is about the worst Super Bowl you could hope for. Not because they're bad teams, but because they're sooo boring. Not so much the Panthers, as their defensive line was flattening everyone, and that made for enjoyable viewing. Patriots, though, are the most incredibly one-dimensional team ever to play in NFL. I'm sure of it.
gerrid gave quite an adequate description of their style of play on MSN recently. Something along the lines of:
Pats on offense:
Rushing play, rushing play, screen pass, rushing play, rushing play, rushing play, rushing play, play action, rushing play, TD.
Pats on defense:
Prevent run, prevent run, prevent pass, return punt for minimal yardage. Start over.
Put the Chiefs, Titans, Packers, Colts, Vikings, Eagles, Falcons, and hell even the Raiders in the Super Bowl, and you'll see how to play an offensive, non-borefest of a match.
Sadly, this year, either the Steelers or the Patriots are going to make it to the Super Bowl. Then they'll beat Philly (or whoever beats Philly in the NFC Championship this year), using their crappy, boring shut-down tactics and their 0-excitement-level offense.
Rar.
> They weren't that boring at the SUperbowl last year.
2nd half maybe not but the first quarter and a half was the most boring thing i've ever seen in any sport and i've watched a few minutes of Golf this year.
Bah.
I should have listened to you htough and changed my Kicker, but nooooo. "I was right"

Thing is, the two weeks prior to the Minnesota match, he's thrown more Interceptions than TDs. And playing consistently for about 12 seasons straight will eventually kind of knacker a guy. He just had a good game again.
I picked Alexander, as I do every week, and I did have a good feeling this week.
The Bills got 3 sacks and 3 Ints, which is good enough for me.
I'm a bit miffed that I went and changed Javon Walker And Favre because gerrid said Favre been looking tired (won't be doing that again)
I should really have not picked Stover.
I bet Akers does really well tommorrow - Akers who I've used in pretty much every game and has done really well in pretty much every game.
And yeah, Moss was an OK chjoice because he scored the first TD.
I wish I'd seem Raiders-Chiefs, because although it wasn't the '6 TDs from each QB' kind of game I was expecting, it still sounded exciting, and seeing as it has Oakland in it, it has to be good. Stat-wise, Porter did well, but Larry Johnson disappointed me. The one week I pick someone other than Shaun Alexander in my Fantasy Football, they do really badly and Alexander gets 150 yards. Grrr. Back to Raiders - I say next season, stuff Rich Gannon. Let the bandit retire, or go to the Browns to further ruin his career or something like that. Kerry Collins is the man to start.
Oh, and Panthers are definitely going to lose next week. Ever since the 2000 Super Bowl, the NFC side has gone with a 7-9 record. Panthers almost ruined the chance of that when they went 1-7 at the start of the season, but now they're back to 7-8 (pretty good season actually considering the crappy start), and are on course for a loss next week to the Saints, which of course gives them their traditional NFC 7-9 finish, and also gives the Saints another rubbish 8-8. Yup.
First off good to see the old jumping over the oncoming rushing defender play coming back into use. Always funny to see.
Packers probably deserved the win although i was questioning the wisdom of chucking Hail Mary passes with 7 minutes to go in the 4th. But Favre = king of the 2 minute drill.
Oakland vs Kansas was great and exciting although why on earth Oakland were in a 30 defence in their own redzone about 3 yards out i have no idea. Poor, poor play calling.
Speaking of poor play calling, as soon as they saw Manning drop back from that shotgun they should have realised the shovel pass was coming and stuffed the guy as soon as he got the ball. Poor once again, how on earth do you lose a 15 point lead? Does show that Indy won't win anything with that defence and that Indiana people are idiots. He is not better than Marino get it through your thick heads.
and the comedy game of the holidays Miami vs the Browns. Don't let the kids watch that game, it was horrible offensive wise. Like a little league game, although even the kids wouldn't fumble 3 times on one play. But how loud was that post when the ball hit it? It echoed around the ground.
