The Gamecube is costing Nintendo big and sagging sales are a large part of their problem, ditch the deadwood before it's to late.
I don't want people to ditch systems early as it means those without the means to purchase new systems are left behind. For a handheld, the PSP is likely to be far too expensive for many!
Keep producing for GC etc otherwise customers will be left behind, and this is bad for the industry in general, as would Sony having a monopoly, which can easily be demonstrated with Micro-shifty's seeming monopoly on PC OS.
There will be a MArio game at launch, almost certainly. Mario 128 is built especially for the Gamecube whilst Mario Revolution is built for Revolution.
And I don't think I could wait 2 years for that Zelda game.
I wasn't doom and gloom, rather the opposite, I saw the DS as being a success, just didn't have a good enough software line up.
The European line up is excellent. Thusly I take it back.
I didn't say there'd be NO good revolution titles, i said if you had those 2 as release titles then it would be Checkmate, and if you take off the rose-tinted spectacles (should have gone to specsavers) then you'll be able to see where I'm coming from.
See you're Nintendo Pro today, the other day you was Mr. Doom and Gloom, Mr. DS is crap, Mr. I won't be getting a DS till next Christmas and until it has a tribal tattoo on.
Didn't want to start an argument with Sir Dringo himself, i was making a point, my point - if somebody doesn't see through your viewpoint then you go mad. Like a Jehovah's Witness of the gaming world.
That Nintendo's massive EAD department, NTSC, Retro, Camelot, Hal and so forth haven't got any plans for Revolution at all.
You miss the entire point of revolution. Totally! Revolution is supposed to be totally different, playing totally different types of games.
Zelda and Mario 128 are Gamecube games. They'll be damn good but they won't be a totally new type of game.
To put it simply Mario 128 and Zelda might not actually work on the Revolution.
And besides, the Gamecube has another 2 years on its life cycle. Do you honestly expect no more AAA titles? I can guarentee there'll be even more Gamecube games to be announced.
We still don't know about the new Pokemon, or the new Kirby game, we haven't seen much of Dance Dance Revolution with Mario, Nintendo's new baseball game or Mario Baseball at that. And that has all been confirmed in the last 2 months.
Camelot'll have another Gamecube game in the works too.
What is peoples obsession with not wanting anymore cool Gamecube software.
You considered that these games won't work on Revolution? Revolution is supposed to change the way games are played forever. Why would Nintendo stick a normal game on it?
Why give up on the Gamecube so early?
And besides, Revolution'll be backwards compatible.
Anywho - I still think the next Zelda and Mario 128 should be released on the Revolution. It makes SO much sense, they'd sell millions if they had those two as release titles. Releasing them close to GC's death doesn't sound like a clever plan to me, surely ?
the DS.

LOL! The DS was on the market for over a month and one week it still sold 108,000
The PSP has shortages yet when they got the stock they sold a measly 64,000... actually that's pretty decent but no where near as high as the DS did when they didn't have any shortages.
The PSP had shortages and when they had the stock they still didn't sell much more.
*laughs*
The DS sold just 10,000 less as well.
*laughs some more*

I'll agree with that, the PP has the better specs but however to take advantage of them all you're gonna have to fork out loads of money.
Memory stick to play MP3s. Memory sticks are expensive, if you want to get a deent amount of music onto your PSP then you'll have to fork out more.
Extra batteries to make up for the pathetic battery life. Considering Ridge Racer only managed 2 3/4 hours from a full charge then you're gonna have to pay £40 - £50 for a new battery. This may be even lower when playing movies.
They're made the most powerful unit, but seem to have forgotten that the meaning of portable involve being able to move away from power sockets for 3 hours!

The reason that the PSP has only just started outselling the DS is because the problems that Sony has with shortages. Now they are getting on top of that and people are starting to see how much better the PSP is than the DS things are swinging Sony's way.
The PSP is making a greater loss because of the technology cramed into the handheld rather than sticking to the slight upgrade from GBA, Sony has gone all out for next gen gaming.
