The Gamecube is costing Nintendo big and sagging sales are a large part of their problem, ditch the deadwood before it's to late.
So you gonna answer the question then?
If a drive running GC-discs was put in the DS, the unit would be bigger. When did the PSP come into things?
If a drive running GC-discs was put into the DS, it would be louder then the cart-system. And discs, spinning as they are, are more easily damaged than cards.
If a drive running GC-discs was put into the DS, it would have less battery time. Four hours isn't enough, no. Although why you said that, I don't know. Battery time would be less. This is a fact.
Seperate memory adds more expense and complexity, another drive meaning the unit would be more expensive. Don't really want that. And you'll keep on having to buy new ones.
Shorter loading times are actually a problem in handhelds. A big one - they are designed to be used on the move, by the way, which means you don't want to wait around very much.
No, really. The DS could never handle a GC game in full, so who would be translating it.

So, as I said and you helpfully backed up for me, the DS would be a much worse piece of kit with a drive running GC-discs put into it. This is a fact. Thanks for your support.

Yer. And this is relevant because...

No. it isn't enough for anybody. 5 hour battery life killed the Gamegear. 4 hours renders the unit unportable in most cases
> memory storage (and this is a disadvantage because)
because you have to buy separate memory cards. no memory cards > memory cards, you moron. It also means 1 extra thing for you to carry around and one extra thing to get lost

Yeah because home consoles are the same as portable ones.
I think you should crawl back into your hole now.

Considering how poor the dvd playback is, i doubt it.
