I currently have 256, and am upgrading and stuff.

I have a Gigabyte 7VTX motherboard.
Anyway - is it possible for me just to get a 512mb stick (that's compatible, obviously)?

It's just I rarely hear of people saying they have 768mb of RAM - it's always a gig, 512, or 256.

And also - is it worth going for over 512 when I could always just get a 256 stick to make it up to 512?

Cheers.

If you're going to get Crucial, why don't you just buy it direct from them?
If anything goes wrong, it'd probably be a hell of a lot easier to sort out.

When you do, just take a note of what it is, if it is PC2700, then that stick from ebuyer you was looking at would be fine.

If your 256mb is old and crappy I would suggest that you just use the new 512mb, because (I may be wrong) it will run the ram at the lower speed of the 256. So if your 256 is only 266Mhz and your 512 is 400Mhz, they'll both run at 266Mhz. That's how my motherboard seems to work anyway.
