I have a Gigabyte 7VTX motherboard.
Anyway - is it possible for me just to get a 512mb stick (that's compatible, obviously)?
It's just I rarely hear of people saying they have 768mb of RAM - it's always a gig, 512, or 256.
And also - is it worth going for over 512 when I could always just get a 256 stick to make it up to 512?
Cheers.

2 of those.
I'm decided.
Don't try and dissuade me.
I've gathered that 2 of those would be better than a single DIMM, as it's DDR and stuff.
Feck sake. Finally.

Follow the compatability guide, and it will find all memory modules that are compatable with your system.

Keep up, old boy.

So then, would I be best to get 2 256 DIMMs rather than a single 512?

So all I need to figure out now is about replacing or running the new along side the slower old.
Edit: And yes, you'll need PC2100. As I said, it's best to fit it in pairs.
Edit#2: Oh, and I have 768Mhz RAM, so it's not *that* rare. Heh.
