Has anyone here got Gmail. Is it any good, and (Be Honest) has anyone sold any of the invites?
Is it true that Invites have been stopped given out?

Anyone else's invites keep getting topped up? I don't mind, but I'm running out of places to put 'em.

GMail uses the same technology as Googles Adsense, its generated by a computer and I doubt anyone company would have the man power to lend them reading peoples private email especially when its free - http://www.google.com/adsense/

That's pathetic.

Who sees your adverts? You. Nobody else.

Antivirus software looks at who it's sent from, it looks at the IP address, where it was sent from, scans for keywords, it scans the message more. It will probably even send info about messages back for people to analyse and stuff.

At the end of the day, they can scan my emails as much as they like, because none of my data will be harvested from the emails and sold on, nobdy will ever see the stuff.

I still can't see why people moan. Nobody will ever see your email, ever. Unless you're a threat to American security...

Yup, it keeps your personal email away from mailing lists, newsletters.. that kind of stuff.

At the moment I use a few email addys, but it's hard to remember which ones receive what; what's more, one of them overlaps as both a personal one and a few other newsletters. I guess I'll have to get that sorted.

There are so few times I send out emails to companies - so when I do, I just change the From address in Outlook temporarily. The rest of the time, I have matt@..... and use that as my address. That doesn't get used to subscribe to any web sites or written on any web sites. It's not foolproof, but it certainly has helped.

That's good, certainly something worth considering as at the moment there are so many things I use email for I haven't really got a proper management system like yourself - grouping it into individual addresses should be useful in the future.

No, I just use [email protected] whenever i use amazon. When I use another company I'll use [email protected]. If a company ever sends me spam, block 'em and they're not worth using again.

Do what I do and get a domain just for email. Each time you use your email addy, use a different address, and then just receive them all on a catch all. So if I signup for Amazon, I'll use [email protected]. If I start getting spam, block that address.
