Has anyone here got Gmail. Is it any good, and (Be Honest) has anyone sold any of the invites?
Is it true that Invites have been stopped given out?

Email is an inherently insecure system anyway, so anyone determined to read things in your email could do so no matter what email provider you have.

When we may disclose your personal information.

As a standard email protocol, when you send an email from your Gmail account, Gmail includes your email address and user name in the header of the email. Beyond this, we do not disclose your personally identifying information to third parties unless we believe we are required to do so by law or have a good faith belief that such access, preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, (b) enforce the Gmail Terms of Use, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues (including, without limitation, the filtering of spam), (d) respond to user support requests, or (e) protect the rights, property or safety of Google, its users and the public.

Google will never sell, rent or share your personal information, including your Gmail address or email content, with any third parties for marketing purposes without your express permission.

I still can't see any problem, they don't collect credit card details or addresses off of you...

It is interesting, but privacy policies are only worth the paper they are written on.

Dunno :D

I'm a programmer, not a web designer :D

I do know they can do lots without you knowing though, the emails are stored on their servers afterall, and are probably their property in some sign up contract somewhere.

Well put it this way targetted ads done by a computer means they can generate more revenue where as hotmail and other services have to rely on upgrades to generate more profit, it makes good business sence and the ads themselves are just text, contain no cookies (correct me if I am wrong)
