Tsk, it doesn't matter. If you're worried about confidential stuff you'd rather not disclose, then there are other services up for the job. But for most uses, it's great.

I got some recently, I think it's best giving yourself gmail invites, then you get more to give to freinds. But at the moment all my freinds who want gmail have it.

I don't know why you bother so much with arguing that google will send you adverts and sell your name when Tesco and Nectarand such other clubcards do it all the time.
