Here we go again.

Say "YES, I like it" if you think it is a good idea to have the new "identifiers" under your name. The four identifiers (dare I say "status") are"
Staff
Newbie
Regular
Notable

Vote "NO, I don't like it" if they don't suit you.

Thanks

(When do I get to go up to Newbie?)

Regular status arrives after 300 posts providing they contain over 7500 words.

One Notable is voted in every three months.

The thing is, the term newbie is synonymous with attributed such as inexperience, incompetence, stupidity. That may sound harsh, but in many cases it's true.

Now, maybe you will be a newbie when you first start posting on this site. On the other hand, perhaps you've been around the block (internet) long enough to know a lot about discussion boards, their etiquette etc. Coupled with an extensive knowledge of.... well, the future of gaming - and the term newbie might just seem that little bit degrading. People who thought thier days of being referred to as newbies are behind them, just might feel a little cheesed off?

Agreed.

Regular
Newbie
Staff
Notable

Easy-peasy

And who the hell suggested "member"?
I don't want to be labelled a member, I've had fights in alleyways for less.

I did like the colours, although blue was a little samey with the rest of the site.
I've seen, on some other sites, that staff names are red. (not the text, just the name itself) to identify you easily.

Not that hard really until people like me start bandying suggestions around.

Too many cooks and all that...

I don't think this will bother people in the future. They be a newbie from the moment they arrive at the site.

Some people are suggesting different names such as Newcomer. I think it would be a mistake to use anything different to the normal vocabulary used on the site.

We might use the term "Just Arrived Today" to show brand new arrivals.

I've got a great idea! They are fine at the moment but why not allow people to make their own taglines - custom titles. People could enter their account and change it there
and then have that name under their nickname

eg. i could want CS Rules
and then my tagline would be displayed as "CS Rules"

I think that would be really cool.

How do i change a nappy?

Changing a nappy is much like your average gaming experience.

Before you start you have to make sure you have everything you need:

A console, a game, a pad and probably a memory card

A clean nappy, luke warm water, cotton wool, and probably a nappy sack.

Once you get started you'll soon get into some serious trouble:

Difficult puzzles (has she finished yet?), difficult enemies, (Oh God no! It's a spreader! Quick, more cotton wool!) and surprise attacks (But you'd finished! There can't be anymore...Oh no, I'd just taken the nappy away and you've pee'd all over the changing mat!)

But after a number of goes you soon get used to it:

You know that the enemies will attack in a certain formation, and you take necessary precautions. (You are always aware that the job is not done until the new nappy is on, and you learn to keep cups of water out of reach.)

Once complete you'll be satisfied, but I'm not too sure about the replay value!

My vote would be NO.

If one thinks they are a regular and they suddenly get "newbie" by ones name, one would be very upset.

I think stating the stuff and notables is a good idea though.

5 and a half hours? It that all? I'd die if i didnt have about 9 hours sleep!

Still, it's good to know all is going well anyway.

In a few years time, if we're both still posting on here, there'll probably be a message for you from me entitled something like:

How do i change a nappy?

Or

Is the kids vomit supposed to be this colour?

Yeah, it probably was. It really isn't worth tracking down!

Fine. Georgia is a very hungry little baby!

The lack of sleep isn't affecting me too much so far, I got 5 and a half hours last night between 11:30 and 5:30, waking only once for a feed from 2:00 till 2:30.

I really think I need to get to bed earlier in the evenings, but I also have all of those online competitions to enter, which I can only do after Malibu has gone to bed at 9:00.

But yeah, it's alright. This stage doesn't last too long though, and I'll soon get back to restfull nights.

Hopefully.
