Looking to achieve a box layout, center page. I don't want to use frames or iFrames, but I do want to define a specific height that can be bordered and scrolled within. However, it can, instead of scrolling, just continue to the side, in columns.

Firstly, Horizontal scrolling is a big no no, tis the quickest way toi annoy your user.
One approach is with Javascript. You create a script which scrolls the div by x pixles on click left or right.
The thing to remeber is that the most powerful way to use CSS is to combine it by using JS and the DOM

Just wondering... Is there any way to format the text inside the DIV's so that it forms columns and extents horizontally (meaning scrolling horizontally) rather than vertically?
Just like to apologise... Sorry.
Was late, I was tired and ticked off... Broke my wrist etc...
And thanks for the help. Sorry again.

You really don't know CSS all that well do you, let alone CSS-P?
For instance, defining heights. This can be done to ANY element in CSS though only tricky if assigned to the window/body.
Of course

Of course
isn't going to work for mainly 2 reasons:
1, the attributes are useless unless decalred in "style="
2. 0 only owrks if using relative placement and not fixed
I do beleive though the example given was:
Which is non sensicle as lacking the "style" attribute for the div, but the abcd is correct it was you who decided to use the value of 0.
You can acheive exactly what you want in CSS with a minor bug issue on Macs (IE). I've been doing it for the past 2 years with no problems, and with a little DOM, you can get wround most issues with odd browsers

Your obviously a n00b here too. Your not the only one who makes a living from this kind of work. Some of us have been doing it for over 7/8 years and concidered pro's in our field.
So before you go trashing people down for making educated suggestions, think first.

Hey mister genius, http://www.suzannamarland.com/stuff/coin.htm. If that is not what you're trying to do, then describe your problem better.
I was wrong about my div syntax, I haven't done css for a while. However, you are an idiot to start bad-mouthing those trying to help you. You are not a web-dev professional, if you were you wouldn't be coming on here asking for help, and you would be able to solve a trivial, bottom-rung problem like this by yourself.
