That wasn't the complete post though was it. He acknowledge Zelda as a great game exclusive in that same post so it wasn't just an attractive FPS that N64 fan meant.
The minor boss in Splinter Cell was ok, as were the ones in Serious Sam, but hard bosses can be a pain especially if fighting them sucks and you just want to get back to the core gameplay.

They should be tough to beat, but the Omega Pirate was over the top and I seem to remember that Meta Ridley was also stupendously hard to beat.
Metroid Prime wasn't really hard until you get to the Omega Pirate and final boss. The final boss is one of the things that left me really hating the game.
I probably wouldn't be half as harsh at criticising the game if it wasn't for that stupid Metroid Prime boss.

Not to me it wasn't.
