I've changed my mind about mac's. They're really not as bad as I thought, and well, they're actually the greatest invention I've ever had the privilege to touch.
Yes, it was wrong of me to be so judgemental without -ever- using a mac beforehand... so I apologise. I should never have been so close-minded and quick to judge.
I guess, you know.. I've just been so biased, basing my judgements on my own false misconceptions when in all honesty, Mac's are so useful, and hell, I think in some ways they're better than PC's. *coughs and splutters*
So yes, I'm sorry. They're actually -quite good-.
And two of the RISC instructions were broken!

P.S. Once you have Mac you never go back
Can you do that on a Mac?
I don't even need to ask.
Like Linux, I could use a Mac happily, but only as a supplement to a cheap, high powered Windows XP PC.
And now I'll read your post.
I just think it's funny that some people aregue against them despite having no "real" working knowledge about them. And yet a majority of arguments about PC v Mac is always UK/European based unlike America/US where Apple hold the market share.
I use all 3 general OS's (OSX, Windows & *nix) and have yet to find anything I can't do on a Mac. Even more recently I was surprised my Linux as I now run FarCry on my *nix box much better than my PC? With a bit of fiddling, I will soon have it running on my Mac!
Thses arguments are almost as bad a chavester rows over cars. Computers are just like any industry, there will always be fan boys from either camp.
I had some bizzare comparison to the fasion industry set up but that's sounding ghey, but it wen along the lines of;
PC's = Easy Jeans... Mass produced, average quality and wear out quickly and soon need replacing
Mac's = Versace (sp?) Well made, quality items which last for ages and have huge impact.
Linux = The specialist made to order.
Said it sounded ghey!
When more people are now looking for a more secure, stable, reliable OS in comparison to windows who can't be bothered with having to learn the dark art of *nix, OSX wins hands down. The latest release of OSX acheives everything Longhorn set out to do but developed in 6 months with a fraction of the cost.
Rob, I'd like to know more about what you can't do on a Mac through the eyes of a PC power user like yourself, especially coming from someone who;s had next to no experience using them.
I remeber the days when you'd preach about Linux and how the world should use it, oddly enough, if it wasn;t for OSX, I never would have.

I'd agree with that totally. It seems like I find some new task for my computer every couple of months and while there is almost certainly a suitable program available for Windows or Linux, there is almost certainly not one available for Macs. Although I like some aspects of the Apple philosophy (looking pretty, easy to use etc) I just don't like the idea of locking myself in to one company for (slight exageration) all my hard and software needs.
