It's not the same.
On PVP servers it's forced, not optional. It's so much more fun.
A bunch of Alliance came over to Ratchet on the ship from Booty Bay, being a neutral zone a brawl quickly started and an hour long battle commenced. With more Alliance arriving on the ships, and what ended up being every Horde member in the Barrens and Durotar flying down to Crossroads to help out, a skirmish quickly become an all out war, with people fighting in the streets/shops/rooftops/ocean/ship.
Eventually we killed the Alliance enough and they began to retreat and sail back to Booty Bay. So far it's easily the best thing that's happened since I've been playing WoW. And this type of thing just never happened on PVE servers.
Also in PVP servers players duel all the time, anytime you run through a town you see several people slugging it out in order to practise for the real fight against the Alliance.

yeah, what he said, but without the sarcasm.
:'(
That sounded great.

Not since we started no, but in beta, even though i was still on a pve server almost nightly there were alliance raids on the crossroads. Im sure you can recall at least one of the times i told you about them.

I'd say thats more to do with your server having a higher population than it being because it's pvp.

Yeah, but it's still not the same, people can choose just not to activate PVP and therefore remain invulnerable. Also, people on PVP servers are there for just that, everyone is training and willing to do battle with the opposite faction.

It's a new server and was still at low population when I logged in this evening. And like I said, everyone on it has joined to adventure and engage in PVP, therefore everyone wants to practise their skills.
I did 8 duels in Crossroads today, won 6 and lost 2. Also did Ragefire with my guild. It was a party entirely comprised of Rogues :)
Creepy joined this evening, he can at least back me up that people talk a lot more and it feels like more of a Horde, especcially when we spent half an hour mobbing French people.
