The link is linked to Phil's maxgames site, so I can't guarantee that has been up the whole time, but I can guarantee that CentralChat's site has been up 100% of the time since your chatroom was put up. All 3 of our servers have been up 100% of the time.
If it has not worked for you, it might be to do with your client/browser/OS combination, although I have never heard of anything like this before, except in such cases as ports being blocked etc in which case our CGI client always works.
I have given Danny the HTML code for our CGI client which will definately work in the event of the Java applet not working for anyone, as it's based on a completely different method of chatting, on a completely different server, I have never known it not work for anyone.
If you want 100% reliabilty, we could (with your permission - if you wanted to do this) co-locate a server of ours at your internet place with your connection. We'd really like to find a better place for co-location, so if you are willing to do that, that'd be fantastic.

Here is my decision (based on the Vote)
Laurence has been kind enough to allow us the use of a chat room through his CentralChat, and Reaper has been working hard on this too.
But the link does not appear to be working at the moment and the reliability issue (and the confusion to some people) worries me.
Therefore, the link (which can be redirected if Reaper wants his temporary url back), will only stay for longer than a few more days IF it proves reasonably reliable and workable.
If it does then we will find a more permanent position for the link, which at present is a the top of the "Open Forums" page.
