I though that as the discussion boards are of a high quality, if only SR people could get in the chat room it would keep that of a sensible standard as well.
One thing i have noticed is that on the chatroom you have to type in a username each time, so if i wanted to, i could log in as FM or Grix or er-no or whatever, and no-one would know.
It would be good if something could be set up like you suggest, so we keep the same names from here.
Why would we want to keep other people out?
i.e. it should stay without passwords until we need them.
What would be neat is if SR users were automatically shown under their alias. I assume this would mean recognising our cookies, so I'm not sure how practical that is.
As long as we have a chat room for those who want it.
I agree marginally that we would have more clicks back and forth if we have discussions links on the chat room, but maybe we can arrange that.
