Anybody played the demo?
Gets excellent reviews across the board but I haven't seen that much blurb about it or hype.
There's also an ad on t.v at the moment for Mercenaries, simply saying 'blow stuff up' again and again.

sniping? long draw distaces? Havok physics?
you've won me over on this one.
Off to the shops tomorrow me thinks.
what are the graphics like on this 'un?
I managed to snipe the pilot of an Allied transport helicopter earlier and make it crash on the top of a large bridge. The chopper was still in one piece though so I carefully climbed up, shot the remaining gunners and stole the helicopter.
Though After all that effort I flew into the path of about 10 SAM launchers a few seconds later and got the crap blown out of me.
Stupid SAM!
Really enjoying this game so far, played it for about 9 hours in 2 days which is a hell of a lot for me.
I could just spend hours starting helping factions fight the North Koreans and totally ignore the missions and other objectives. The havok physics are second to none, every explosion is simply gob smacking. I hit a jeep with an RPG earlier and it must have flown about 20 foot up in the air.
My favourite thing to do at the moment is steal a helicopter (jacking them feels even cooler than Halo 2) and then take it up to the top of a high building, hop out and snipe people from the rooftop. For once you're not restricted by the awful draw distances in GTA and you actually have something to shoot at. Oh and calling in air strikes from up high makes the explosions look even cooler.
