Is dangerously addictive, almost impossibly deep, and is a truly marvellous management spectacle.

It is also frustrating beyond words, often truly ridiculous and is a cause of premature mental instability.

I love Football Manager '05

AJ - how do you loan out players? I mean, I have plenty of players that would make any Championship team happy, and they're availble for loans, but no-one apporaches me!

Grrr! I'd pay all the wages as well...

XD

Just lost to Chelski 3-2. Sitting in 7th, 9 points away from the league leaders with two games in hand. If I'd beaten them, I'd be 6 points away... Ah well. Come on Miccoli! Smack 'em up!

Also, download the new 5.05 patch. 'Tis much good.

Also, download the EPL Super Pack.

Also, download the "Hi-Vis" ball - ie. Nike 90 Yellow.

Also, I'm even irritating myself with this formatting nonsense. So have a good one, I'm off to headhunt some keepers. Football - a game with real job prospects :P.

I'll be checking out both keepers.

As for Guarin, he sucks on my game. Baptista, as previously mentioned, rocks teh socks off Guarin anyday, anywhere.

Still, he's not doing too badly in the reserves...

My keeper (Zoetebier)sp? is amazing, it all started when I played Arsenal, the saves he made were excellent, didn't let one goal in even though my defence was sloppy.

Both Reyes and Henry had a chance to score a one on one but Zoetebier still managed to stop their shots.

I was so amazed after that game that I managed to draw with Arsenal, but I thought that was the end...until I played Feyenoord and once again Zoetbier saved loads of shots that you'd expect most keepers to miss.

We managed to beat them 5-1 in the end, we only conceded a goal because the ref gave them a penalty.

My keeper = The bidness.

I have approached to sign both Adu and Vanden Borre, I was allowed to offer them up to £13k again so that was good.

Why has Adu got Lines in his stats? e.g. he has a "-" beside passing. Does this mean he's useless at passing or does it mean he hasn't played enough games for them to rate his passing skills?

EDIT | Im currently 2-1 down against Inter at half time, I thought i'd try a different formation seeing as they're obviously going to beat me so I went for this formation ( http://files.fmbase.co.uk/downloads.php?action=file&id=728 ) and it really works with my team.

EDIT | YEEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!
Hesselink is absolutely amazing!!!! He scored on the 66th min and then got fouled and the ref gave a penalty! Shame he got injured but im 3-2 up now!

I wont qualify through to the next round because I need to beat Inter by at least 4 goals but im so happy im beating them right now!!!

Lesser known players that are incredible:

Freddy Guarin (Colombia and Envigado) - you can get him with pretty much any club for around a million, and as soon as you buy him his value rockets to about £9 million. He's only 19 when the game starts, and he's an amazing central midfield player.

Edgar Barreto (Paraguay and NEC) - costs a bit more than Guarin, but he's just as talented. He starts at 19, and you'll spend about £3 million on him. He'll be worth at least 3 times more than that after the first season.

Anthony Vanden Borre (Belgium and Anderlecht) - right at the start of the game he's 16 so if you offer a reasonable contract you've got him for about £500,000. Turns 17 pretty soon after the start of the season, so hurry up and get him before he gets there, as you'll then have to pay about £2.5 million. Keep him in the reserves for the first season, then loan him out the second, and then once he's 18/19 at the start of your 3rd season he'll be a world class defender worth about £10 million.

Andrea Bellanova (Inter Milan) - 16-year-old left back when the game starts. Sign him right away and you'll get him for £500,000. Use the same tactic as with Vanden Borre, and he'll be world class in the 3rd/4th season. He always has trouble settling in pretty much everywhere, but he'll overcome that after about a year.

Jan Lastuvka (Czech Republic and Shaktar Donetsk) - top class young keeper that becomes better than pretty much every keeper in the game. He's only just signed for Donetsk when the game starts so you'll have to wait until the end of the first season unless you fancy spending an awful lot. About 20 years old and you should get him for under £3 million.

Andrea Eusepi (Roma) - defensive midfielder, who has only just turned 16 at the start of the game. It's worth getting him straight away as he's a top prospect for the future as well. Settles in well, and for a sum of around £350,000 originally you've got yet another world class Italian for the future.

Valerio Severi (Milan) - another Italian, and this time a right back. Is 17 at the start so you have to pay about £1.5 million for him. This value will increase dramatically by the time he's 20, though, so yet another top class future buy. He's a player that always finds time to complain about everything, though, so he might not be right for some teams. I got him when I was Liverpool and he fell out with me and left for Udinese. A season and a half later he's transfer listed by request there... so maybe just a bit too much of a twunt for some people. :-D

Then of course you all know about the wonderful Freddy Adu. So I don't think I need to go into much detail for him.

Anyway, go get all these mofos. And after 2 seasons you'll be world beaters. Oh yes.

Cheers for that, it's taking ages to add te attachment though.

I dont think im going to go through to the next stage of the CL because I drew with Arsenal and lost to Celtic, this leaves me in thrid place with Inter still to play.

The only way I can get that second spot is if Arsenal loose their next match and I beat Inter at least 4-0 which just isn't going to happen.

Suprisingly Inter are bottom of the table, they were beat by Arsena and drew with Celtic.

Farfan is out for 3 weeks which is a real bummer cause my other strikers aren't very good. Im trying to get rid of as many players as possible, I just have way too many and most of them haven't played one game since I took control of PSV.

Yep.

Look in "My Documents" ---> Football Manager ---> Games. All your saves are there, so simply copy the file you want, and e-mail it or put it on a disc.

--

Doing rather dissapointingly just now. Shockingly, all apart from Smith and Podolski, of my 6 strikers are out for the next week... And half my midfield. The game clearly thinks I'm too good :D.

As for progress in competitions, I have a very tough ECC clash with Valencia coming up, currently drawing on 7 points but have better goal difference - for second place. But looks tough, without my key players - Miccoli, Nistles, Chivu, Ferdinand and Baptista are all out...

Does anyone know whether I could somehow get my FM2005 save data from my laptop onto my PC? Could I send it via e-mail and open it up on my computer because I want to start using my PC for FM (much much faster) but I dont want to start a new game.

Just found a great site called throw-in.com, it is really good.
