The way I've seen England so far is this.

First game: Played poor but still managed to hold one of the best teams for 90 minutes.

Second game: Again, pretty poor. One good moment from Owen and some luck won it.

Third game: Played well, deserved to win.

My heart wept for Cassanno. How gutting to score the goal in the 93rd minute you believed would propel your nation into the quarter finals of the Euro championships, only to be told by Trappatoni that it was for nothing.
Bah.

I did feel for Italy and the poor lad that thought he'd put them through.

There are times for opinions and granted I challenge most all the time, this time though you are wrong. We played well, we held "supposedly" the best team in the World for 90 minutes before one player facked the lot up, I fail to see how sitting on the 18 yard line and cutting everything out can be suddenly be classed as poor.

The weakest part of England's team is the defence I think, although that didn't show too much against France.

I don't know if that point helps either of you, but....

I can only speak for the second half, because I was working during the first.

Look, you saw it your way and I saw it mine. I do know a bit about the game, not much, but a bit. From what I saw, in my view. We. Were. Poor.

You can say we were good if you wish, but I will not agree.

We were good against Croatia, although our defence still had it's rocky moments.

It makes pefect sense. A faultless performance was England for the 90 minutes until Heskey facked up, it was as faultless as a performance could be within reason, they did everything right.

Who said anything about a pro? There is a difference between someone with football knowledge and someone who doesn't understand. If you had played the game at any level or if you were into it in a big way you would appreciate how superbly England played in the second half from a defensive and holding point of view.

I also notcied how you avoided the point. No other England player gave away a free kick all night in a position where France could use the only weapon they had against us; Zidane from dead ball situations.
