And it's mine!

A bank robbing/general heist game. Each different level is a different set-up that requires you to infiltrate different locations, avoid/take out guards, set up electronics, lay traps and bluffs, shimmy through air vents, avoid laser beams, all in the style of Oceans Eleven.

Just imagine how cool a game like that could be. Breaking into a casino vault. Choosing five men to take part, all with different abilities eg. small chinese guy fits through vents, big knucklehad knocks out guards, dweeby guy is good with electronics, pickpocket can steal keys and paperwork, charming guy can distract people... it's a classic waiting to happen. Add several different ways to complete each break-in and you've yourself a winner. You could even break up different heists into different locations by nicking bits of equipment from elsewhere.

Nick the best bits from Splinter Cell, throw in a bit of M:I-style action (lowering yourself through air vents etc.), a few Bond-style gadgets and you've got a class-A game. Obviously the game would have to be fairly difficult, and you'd fail the first few times, but once you get to learn people's routines, find passwords and codes, disguise yourself as key employees etc. you learn each level.

Man, this game would rule. Like Splinter Cell but set in Vegas without Michael Ironside. All ideas are copyrighted to me, mofos. As far as I know, a game like this has never been created, that focuses solely on the break-in side of things, so it'd be fairly fresh and original.

And yes, I did just watch the Parole Officer.

Stop stealing my ideas Hedfix. ;)

Cruise liner + Art gallery are both excellent ideas.

Indeed, put 'homage' in somewhere, and it becomes acceptable.

I like it.

You could choose the AI settings for each one as you select them. So one could try be set to 'inconspicuous' whilst another might be set to 'distract' or 'observe' whilst you're not controlling them.

yeah but then you have the time issue. what happens to everyone else while the nerd is hacking. do they just stand there lamely waiting for the patroling guard to come across them and shoot em while you focused on the nerd.

this is the reason Commando's is 2d

You'd have to swap between team members to do certain things - like nerd typed dude hacking into the system, opening door A for spy type guy to get through, so he can access codes for the vault, so that the person can enter the vault, or whatever.

Could work very well.

it will be far too complex having to work all the team members at once. It can be dodgy enough on commando's when the defenders are fairly static and they are all on the screen at the same time

YEah, yeaH, YESSSSSSSSSSS!! And then right at the end a hooooge explosion!!!!

*KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMOO!!!!!!!*

Seriously though, good idea. I like my idea of being a bird though: doing birdy things like flying round a big town, waiting for it to rain to catch worms, collecting twigs for a better nest, etc. Birds rule. Or a monkey. They rule too.

You need a computer-type affair, where you have to steal data/implant virus

Art Gallery level, straight out of The Thomas Crown Affair. Ithangyou.

If you rip off loads of different films rather than just the one, then people call it 'a loving homage' to said movies. Tarantino does it all the time :)

Its gotta be a Cruise ship, I think that is a good idea. A plane just isn't quite good enough to last for an acceptable amount of time, whereas the Cruis Liner could have so many different parts you could be working on. The distractive woman could linger around the bar, dance and socialising area, whilst the rest take their positions in high or low, wide in central positions on the Cruise liner.

Brilliant idea.
