Are we living in a safer world where terrorists are cowed and beaten, too scared of US retribution to commit atrocities? Or is Dubya's "We're going to war so my friends can have more money and profits!" approach to this whole affair making the world a lot more dangerous?

Well...what do you think?

Answer is:

No, he would not be a terrorist, he would be the leader of a nation who declared war on the US. In addition, he and his government would be directly accountable to the US, and when they lost he would be tried as a war criminal, but not a terrorist. A terrorist is an individual who strikes at others without any political legitimacy. They don't represent anything but a religious belief or an ideal, and they are not accountable to any political body. Hitler was not a terrorist. Stalin was not a terrorist. Napoleon was not a terrorist. Terrorism is about more than just the fact that someone is "terrorized". Terrorism is about avoiding direct confrontation between nations by using non-affiliated entities as tools.

Example:
So if bin laden was elected president, then he rang a terrorist group and ordered them to repeat 9/11 one night, and they did, would he not be a terrorist for this?

I must agree with you about Bush blaming all Arabs and Muslims for September 11th. That is like saying every person with a beared is a serial killer like Peter Sutcliffe or Charles Manson. I have been reading about the Freamasons and the Jewish community in America. Apparently America is the new JerUSAlem. I was looking for a religion that made sence to me and someone told me to read the keys of Enoch. On the surface it encompases everything I was looking for to believe in. Ancient beliefs from Eygpt and Sumaria, all mixed up in one belief system. Predating Christianity and the Koran. until you look deeper. Apparently because the Jews were killed in world war two for rejecting crist 2000 years ago. The ones that survived now live in America and are spreading the word of Freamasonery. They want a freemason state. As on the dollar bills. To get this state you must choose the right path. The freamasons or the Muslims. Bush and Blair are members of the freamasons. Need I say anymore.

A big lie is the idea that there is a "war against terrorism". There is no such thing. A war is waged by an army fighting against another army. Fighting terrorism may be a police matter, but not a military one. And that is where education has failed. Because the real weapon against terrorism is education. When a proper education teaches children atheist values of respect for every other human being, the result is that no one is willing to crash an airplane into a building in the name of Allah or any supernatural being, with the false hope of deserving an imaginary "heaven". With an atheist education, nobody need believe in any kind of life after death, and so everyone will try to make this life, the only one we are certain exists, better for everybody. Peaceful citizens need of course to be protected against terrorists, terrorists being people who were already badly educated and who are ready to die for their beliefs by becoming human bombs in the name of their supernatural gods. But this is not a war. It's a matter for the police. The huge military expenses, advanced jets and armored vehicles, missiles and satellites can do nothing against 3 men with a cutter who decide to hijack a boeing 747. It is always laughable to see the media illustrating the idea of war against terrorism by showing military training in terrorist camps. You do not need months of training in para military camps to hijack an airplane with a box cutter! Wake up, it's a cutter not a machine gun! This is a pure campaign of disinformation designed to support the alleged "war on terror" which doesn’t even exist. And by invading other countries in the name of this so called "war on terror", killing thousands of innocent civilians, imprisoning and torturing thousands of others, America is only generating a thousand times more terrorists ready to die avenging the death and torture endured by their friends and families. How can citizens of the so-called "country of freedom”, the most advanced country in the world, the United States of America, suddenly become war criminals, torturers and abusers? Only because they are indoctrinated by this big lie of a "war on terror" which makes them see all Arabs or Muslims as potential terrorists potentially guilty of September 11 attacks, and needing punishment. It is exactly like the Germans in 1938 who were indoctrinated to hate the Jews so much that a majority of them were ready to help Adolph Hitler put them in concentration camps and exterminate them. Guantanamo looks more and more like Auschwitz and it is indeed a concentration camp where so called "detainees" have absolutely no rights. The imaginary “war on terror” is creating more terrorists and sadly, the future will prove it. Before this war started there were a few hundred religious fanatics ready to blow themselves up in the name of their god, now there are hundred of thousands all around the Muslim world who hate America as never before. Hatred creates hatred. War brings war and violence engenders violence. "Those who live by the sword will die by the sword ". That's why it is more than ever of the utmost importance to remember what Jesus said : "Love your enemies".

No i'm just saying what i hear from people around me who often criticise Bush for not getting involved in other areas of the world that are having conflicts. When pointed out they have a go at him when he does get involved all i get is an annoyed grunt and a *serves him right the stupid idiot*

and i totally agree about Iraq, i've always thought it was Dubya finishing off his Dad's business and he's paying the price for it now.

They're hardly getting hammered on the international media/diplomacy stage for ignoring such troubles as N.I are they?

I guess the main point is that people feel it's entirely hypocritical - first of all, as someone pointed out, a 'war on terror', and also the lack of action in other areas. The 'Damned if you do' bit comes in with Iraq - where many people feel it was all for the wrong reasons and has gone terribly wrong.

That's my point though, they're criticised when they go storming in trying to fix everything with bombs and more bombs, yet when they say *actually no we can't be bothered to go into that country and stop the attacking force there* they get get hammered for it. Damned if they do and damned if they don't as they say
