Are we living in a safer world where terrorists are cowed and beaten, too scared of US retribution to commit atrocities? Or is Dubya's "We're going to war so my friends can have more money and profits!" approach to this whole affair making the world a lot more dangerous?

Well...what do you think?

I did not say I believed in this. Im just saying that I have read a book called the keys of Enoch. It was written by a Jewish American. Those views are what he was saying are real. He is also a promenent freamason.
He has one of the biggest growing religions in the US. If the American's are all falling for this sort of religion It is no wonder President Bush is able to declare a war on Muslims. I did also say that I threw the book as it was racist Fodder. I do not believe in any religion. But I am reading lots of Books to see where all religion is based and why people follow a religion. I am finding Religion is what is breeding a lot of racism.

Nope. I'm extremely paranoid, but I shy off from developing elaborate theories that are totally unsupported by any evidence and rely on the reader believing that a shadowy cabal of people control the world and have done since time immemorial. The main thrust of my political beliefs (that most politicians in position of power are greedy little rectal rods who got there solely because of the money of big business, and they then use that position to aid those who got them there in the first place) is fairly well supported.

Basically, when I talk about conspiracy theorists, I'm talking about the likes of those people who believe David Icke. Or the ones who point at the dollar bill and mutter of dark deeds that were hatched in Roman times. NOT people who think that politics (left and right wing) is mainly a sham these days.

Now can I ask you something; do you mean to come across in as condescending a manner as you do when you post in here, or is it accidental? That is a genuine query by the way.

I have to agree. Remember that Jon Ronson (?) book, "Them: Adventures with Extremists"? In particular, the Bohemian Grove section with Alex Jones? Jon was unimpressed with the "New World Order" theory, and suggested it was just a group of politicians and mates having a massive p!ssup, whereas Jones was terrified and convinced shadowy goings on were happening involving human sacrifice.

Hilarious extents of paranoia in evidence.

[edit] Damn, thats disjointed. My head is mashed by a new brand of hayfever tablets today. Lets see what happens once I've had a drinkiepoos...........

Is he? Oh Jesus....

I have my own views on conspiracy theorists. Whilst I appreciate that their boundless paranoia can uncover dirty deeds (Watergate for example), I tend to think that it is their absolutely certainty that they know something that no-one else does that keeps them happy. They create their little theories and selectively pick facts that support them. Then they have the satisfaction that they know the truth and no one else does. Frankly, I suspect that many of them would be disappointed if their theories were given fair hearing because then everyone would know, not just the theorist himself.

~sigh~ Assuming you're someone other than forest fan, no he won't. He'd approve of your blatant lies and ignorance. Jehovah's Witnesses say they receive messages from aliens and now you bring in Crowley? What an absolute pile. Care to provide some evidence? And can you say anything at all to convince me you're not Mary?

What on earth are you babbling about? If I were a paranoid chap, I'd say you were Mary or one of his fun-filled buddies.

Now; the Jews were killed in WWII because Hitler used them as a scapegoat for all Germany's problems. As Hitler planned to replace the Church with a more militaristic religion, I hardly think the concerns of christianity came into his thinking. The one doller bill thing is a sad and discredited conspiracy theory. The freemasons concern is the good old fashioned paranoia of the conspiracy theorist. Need you say more? Well...yes. You need to start producing some evidence rather than just making bland statements.

I think saying they're trying to fix things in Iraw is pushing it a bit. The balkans conflict was different; yeah, they got some criticism from the anti americans, but generally the intervention was recognised as a good thing. No such recognition here...

Only if it was something to do with them in the first place. Which, thanks to Ronnie and Dubya's dad's policies of the 80's, it invariably is.

Then maybe the US Government should have thought better of using various 3rd world countries as proxies in their war against communism?

The US Navy today announced that it has released a senior terrorist after questioning him extensively for 27 days while he was held prisoner aboard a US aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea.
