I've been getting into HIM lately. They bloody rule.

Is this a really stupid question that can only address mainstream taste?

Yes.

Of course it's not getting worse. Mainstream music is an industry rather than an art, and yes, there's a lot of rubbish. But hasn't there always been?

I listen to many bands who are releasing stuff today, and it's not rubbish...

Quite frankly it's pretty stupid just lumping genres together and saying it's all crap... Good music is still there you just have to look for it, and possibly open your mind to the fact that not every band / artist in a particular genre is 'crap' just because you don't like some other stuff that the media chucks in the same genre...

I think it's time that someone outlined what good music is. Therefore, a list of very good albums magically appears. =D

Im 13 and find practicly everything i nthe charts crap. I dont even listen to the radio (apart from some of the stations on media player) any more.

Also everything let alone pop has gone crap really. I was a fan of eminem (bad example of good rap even if I like him) and it seemed after that everyone started talking about how they have 50 hoe's 5 cars and an uzi. The only new rap I really listen to is some of Kanye West's songs. As for rock, well its dissapeared i nthe charts really hasn't it. Though I havn't checked for a while.

Meaningful, maybe, but the song is what is known as 'Commercial rubbish'. Classic? It's hardly that- just becuase it was popular doesn't make it good. Classic is used to describe stuff that is actually good. If you want a meaningful song, download 'Disposable Heroes' by Metallica. It's about a personal struggle against militarised society. Plus, it's fantastic instrumentally with an excellent guitar solo.

And are you inable to put two sentences in one post? It's not that hard. You're not using MSN Messenger, so why not use proper English and post like a normal person?
