The proof is in the pudding so to speak. Nothing to doubt anymore, he obviously isn't as big a fan as he has made himself out to be.

Great career move but as far as Leeds fans are concerned he can kiss good bye to the Cop and a return to Elland Road.

The thing is, I can only think of a couple of Brazilian players who have actually made it in the Premiership and as much as Ronaldinho may be lapping up the Spanish league I think it would have been too big a job for him to step into Beckham's role in what for me is the most interesting and challenging league in Europe. With Ronaldo they could always fall back on "he is young and has a lot to learn" where as taking someone who is more established was always going to lead to one thing.

They have probably done the right thing under the circumstances, Ronaldo is looking excellent and Smithy will prove himself as one of Utd's best players, his work rate is quite simply immense.

Another mistake United have made though is with Butt. Have always rated Butt as a player and with the right coaching into the Keane role he would have proven himself to be far better than the players they brought in. I would like to see Butt in the picture more as if he is given a regular place I think he could prove himself to be a sound play breaker in a midfield that really needs strengthening.

Back on the Transfers in problem, United made the same mistake Arsenal did as far as Mr. Woodgate is concerned. Always been a fan, went to a Leeds training session when they were dominating the youth cup with my mates dad and just watching him play you could tell he was an extremely good player, he did all he could to prove that at Leeds and was forced out due to finances, couldn't believe when he ended up at the Park though, why the hell didn't Utd come in for him? The same can be said for Arsenal although they haven't been in serious need as Toure turned himself into a first team player.

Wouldn't like to say where Utd go from here, replacing Keane is the the main priority although looking at the market there aren't all that many players available who could step in and play the vital role that he has at United. They have to sign someone this summer though, Smithy is the bargain of the summer but bargain or no bargain they need to get someone in of extremely high quality to to either blood in or play from the start as this could well be The Irish mans last season.

Can you show me a link to where you saw this because ive not heard that anywhere.

Smith is still a Leeds Fan and probably always will be but you need to look at the bigger picture of why he decided to further his career and join United.

Anyway I seem to be repating myself over and over, everyone has aired their views and all of them have stated a point, the transfer has been done and he is now a United player - so let us move on.

Smithy said that Richmond or whatever told him they'd try and move 'heaven and earth' to keep him, then he moaned about having no new contract.

And yes, we're getting against teh point (sorry for leading it astray), but NO loyal fan could leave their club, especially for their biggest rivals

Yea Victoria was a thorn in the side of Fergie for many years and eventually led to Becks departing only for the dizzy tart to turn around and say she doesn't really like Spain anymore. You aren't talented love, you can't sing and you aren't exactly the most attractive woman in the world so just shut up, stay at home with the kids and let the actual successful part of the marriage get on with his business and keep your pointy nose out of it.

However i feel if Fergie and the board had actually been smart and bought a replacement for him, like maybe the young betis lad Joaquin or even if the United board hadn't decided to play silly idiots and actually payed PSG what Ronaldinho was worth (that 24 million is looking very cheap now) then Becks wouldn't have been an issue. It's just the fact that we didn't replace him and eventually it caught up with us, because back in December when we were sitting atop the league i didn't hear any mention of Becks then. It's just eventually the lack of creativity and the much needed quality of the final ball which was very lacking in the final part of the season punished us.

However i still feel the need of another top quality defender. Maybe Puyol to replace Neville or bringing in Mexes so Silvestre can move back to the left and O'Shea over on the right. Either option would give United something they haven't had since the Bruce, Pallister days, that being a solid defence that actually gives the fan confidence that there isn't going to be any defensive screw ups that will eventually get put on video and hosted by Danny Baker or something.

And i was very annoyed at the Stam transfer, he was probably my favourite player at the time and very important for United only for Fergie's ego to once again swell up and flog him for no where near what he was worth.

Mattribute - The Leeds Chairman came out publically and made it known that Smith would be sold because they couldn't affords his wages, Skysports also showed the interview with him, so im not sure what your on about? more players will be sold as Leeds need to clear their huge wage bills.

Yes, yes we could.

We told him we'd be happy to keep him, and on a decent salary, but he was not interested.

I would have to agree with the Wes Brown comment, Mr. "I am to casual for my own good" but I still feel with Ferdinand fit the defence isn't really an issue, tis the midfield.

Ronaldo is shaping up to be a future star, was sceptical as to whether he was a one trick pony but he has proven to be quite a force.

I despise the phrase "if only" but in this instance I can't help it... If only Beckham hadn't married the stick he would still be at Utd and he wouldn't have been dominated by a self indulgent tart who won't accept no for an answer, this cost him a relationship with Ferguson and in his usual stubborn ways (the Stam book being an example) if you go against Utd in anyway, you are finished.

If only though, he would have provided Utd with a required asset this season.

Jesus you cretin.

Leeds couldn't pay his salry, hence he left he just decided Man Utd for they were offering the most of all other clubs.

Also, your missing the fact they gave YOUR CLUB the most for him. Surely that amounts to something.
