Goodbye Smithy.
You shall be hated.

As i've said, it's an exellent career move, but there's no way he's a Leeds fan.
And he broke that.

I could, but it'd take an increasingly special offer.

Never. Never never never. Ever.
To be honest Alan Smith could have been a Leeds hero if he'd have stayed, or even if he'd moved to virtually any other Premiership club. He's now just another one of those who has come and gone.
> Mattribute that means you must really hate your new signing Danny Pugh

Has Danny Pugh been in teh news saying that he's Man United through and through, and really loves the club? Was he on teh pitch, on the final day of teh season, lapping up the plaudits as the fans cried his name? Did his club need him?
No.
And Football isn't just a game, my friends. T others, it may be. To me, it's a passion, and a love. Leeds are my 'other half'

This is one of the best points in this thread, no matter how fired up you get over supporting your team.
As an ardent Leeds fan (Smith not me) he knows exactly what kind of earache he would have gotten off the Leeds faithful but as they are a division apart now that will not trouble him. There was no way he was staying with Leeds when they went down but at least he waited until the end of the season. He has made an intelligent career choice, one that suits his amibition and hopefully his still growing talent. I bet his family, some of who are also ardent Leeds fans, are applauding his decision.
This will be forgotten in the mists of time except by the few in this thread who now hate him. When you get to your late 40's you will be sat in the pub and will go on and on about how you hate Man Utd and Smithy for going there and Leeds fans will no longer hate Man Utd and the younger generation will not understand why you still hark on about it. How do I know? There are guys in the pubs in Huddersfield who hate Leeds with a passion, not because of anything recent but because of the time and locality of when both teams played in the 1st Division, way back in the mists of time.
I do wonder if the old rivalry will spring up again as Leeds continue their downwards spiral and Huddersfield (hopefully on Monday) continue to develop.
