Today's big story is that Roberto Carlos is set to move to Chelsea for £20 Mill at the age of 31 that is an excessive amount of money for someone of that age and what will this mean for Wayne Bridge? and im sure Franky Lampard will not be happy at Carlos' reported 120k a week wages!
In other news, Smith seem's set to have a medical on wednedsday at OT in a deal which will see Danny Pugh go the other way. Birmingham are closing in on Muzzy Izzet and Dickov and Darren Purse is set for a move to Norwich City for 500k a snip seeing as though there were figures of £5 mill flying around a few years ago.
Anymore for anymore?

Rumour has it they're going for Keown, Pennant and someone else, can't remember the name.

A 'large' English club, is all we know.

a) I didn't call Chelsea no-hopers.
b) It'll have to be, especially if you have a clear-out and a new manager before next season!

No, we weren't!
According to the press and pundits - and at least some forum members if i recall correctly - we were tired, the squad was too small, we hadn't signed any players at the time apart from Lehmann, and we were going to find it incredibly hard to challenge Chelsea (with their new players and money) and United (with their existing squad - never mind the new signings) for the title.
I clearly remember it all, because I said to my dad and cousin - both also Gooners - "We'll see, won't we!"
So - a Premiership trophy, FA Cup semi and Champ's League quarter later - I still say we did rather well.
And as I'm sure you will recall, I was NOT one of those claiming that we would win the Treble.
It's true!

Having the knowledge and memories that we knocked you out of the Champions League in the Semi-finals at Highbury is enough for the next 10 years for us "no-hopers."

No hopers??!?!?
You were always favourites. Oh so you mean Man Utd did a lot in the transfer market... Kleberson, Djemba-Djemba ^o)
Chelsea weren't favourites because everyone was saying how it would take time to gel.
Arsenal were favourites.

For all the good it did them. At least our beatings of Chelsea resulted in a trophy! :-)

Considering how we were "no-hopers" going into the season because - unlike United and Chelsea - we "hadn't done enough in the transfer market", I think we had a good season.
