Voice acting can ruin games. It can also enhance them.

I don't want to play as a gay-sounding plumber though.

yeah thats right ofcourse i said voice acting puts every gamer off every game ever. do u know what reading is? the example of metroid/mario/zelda all revolve around 1 central character. actually i can't even be bothered to explain this. its like trying to teach rocket science to a monkey. actually that would probably be easier.

WTF???

You said that voice acting puts gamers off, and yet GTA is the top selling game on the PS2. So obviously voice acting doesn't ruin games, does it? heh.

i don't know if 3 second soundclips count as voicing to be honest. the occasional "woohoo" and "oh no" do however work to great effect, especcially in paper mario 2. a lot of the comedy elements in that game come from the timing of the sound clips that the american chap provides. the point is nintendo could have given sunshine or paper mario 2 a lot more voice overs but they decided not to.

You mean in the same way Rockstar put people off their games?

Mario is voiced by some fat old bloke who lives in a large pink house in california.

Just a bit gay.
