The first answer that springs into everyones mind is Mario because hes the original Nintendo character. I'd have to say Sonic, because he started out on the SEGA platforms and then gatecrashed Nintendo platform games and Mario's never done that.

Its not Link, Link is as his name suggests, the link between u and the game.
In my opinion its Wario, i just find the idea of an evil mario ingenius.
The way the only difference in the name is that the M is flip'd is realy nice, plus he has some great cathphrases and he wears yellow and pink.
And that mustache is classic.
The over exagerated face features are clever aswell, evil mario indeed.

Howevor, i guess he is a spin off character, and without Mario, he wouldent exist.

I think Oswaldo is the best nintendo character.

But who do you think is a fan favorite. Many people love Falco

I say its a three way tie between fox, link and mario
