"Joining The Police..."

I'm seriously considering joining the police instead of going to uni - I think I've really had enough of being educated. I just want to DO something rather than being some crappy person who just writes stuff and doesnt actually make a difference. I think making a difference in life is the most important thing you can do and by upholding the law you're making a difference!

I don't know a great deal of what sort of thing I'd be undertaking by joining the force but I am sure it is better than etching out my existance in a lowly cubicle of a generic office block.

I want to get some information packs send so if you know any websites or places I can phone or write to to ask then can you help me out.

That will be a doddle for me, I've got pretty strong arms, shoulders and legs.

No, in your first 2 years you're tested about 6 times.

Here is what is needed at the moment.

Bleep test, level 5.4

I got level 10.2 and stopped because it’s the highest you need in the force, for firearms

One handed grip test, 32.5kg

I got 61kg

Push and pull test requires 38ks for each

I got 80kg on the push and 82kg on the pull

Is it just one physical test when you join and then thats it?

The level of fitness needed is ridiculously low.

Edit - and by fit I mean physically, not the looks department (we all know you're ugly)

Do you only want to do it for a short time, or for a full 30 years?
