Had to drive a 2.0 16v Turbo Ford Mondeo saloon. It's a huge car and has very bad vision out of the rear compared to what I'm used to driving.

Had to do the old reverse round a corner and turn in the road as well as driving for 35 minutes.

I passed, (of course), so now I can drive a police car at legal speeds. I am aloud to use my siren and lights to stop "compliant" drivers, but I can't do most stuff until I've done the 3-week course.

That survey was shown on TV yesterday. 90% of police officers want guns, whilst 10% said they didn't.

Can apply after you're confirmed.
Firearms would be good because you get some great training, not only in firearms but also advanced driving.

Bottom line. Could I shoot someone? I don't think I could.

It has got that bad in some places.
I said no because I think it should be left to the specifically trained unit who train everyday they work.

carrying guns? that's a bit extreme, it hasn't got that bad yet, surely.

The big bap itches less, but the flat cap weighs less and doesn't get as hot.

Come on - be ashamed.

You could have got a revolver, and a holster. Then gone around, in a 3rd hat, twidling your gun and challenging dirty varmints to duels.

[S]Which hat do you prefer?

They sent out a big questionnaire about if we wanted to carry a gun recently. I said no.
