Very weird to play this after Resi 4, I don't think you couldn't get two shooting games any more different from each other.
So far:
+ Lots of humour and little touches which made me smile
+ More Captain Ash
+ Looks and sounds alot better with alot more speech
+ The stats & character gallery are back, with some old favourites
+ Intimidatingly huge amount of Challenges etc. to do
+ Doesn't look like EA have messed around with FRD's game.
- Couple of framerate slowdowns
- Pathetically weak and short opening level (the demo level)
- I seem to be crap at Arcade league.
The opening Story Level is a let down, specially since the beginning of TSP2 threw you into the sublime Siberia level. But the next level is far better. And has Captain Ash who is hilarious :)
Oh, and in the extras section you can see the credits, which has Cortez going all Saturday Night Fever on a mirror-balled dance floor. The sign on the wall says "The Big Tipper". :D
> Wow the single player story mode is much better but too short and too
> easy.
Well you're gonna be playing it through again at least twice more to do it on Normal and Hard to unlock everything. And in Hard mode it does get pretty difficult.
Good Game.
On the Challenges I've come quite a long way but the Cut-Out Shoot-Out with Viola, the 2nd, is nigh on impossible - does anyones know a way to scrounge even enough points for Bronze?
I'm also not very good at the Cat Driving Challenges as racing isn't really my thing. I've been devoting most of my time to Multiplayer - still can't get over squishing people in the Jeep, on Siberia, in tune to the Announcer's "Chimp-a-cide" :D
Overall it's ruddy bloody good :)
I spent a large amount of time yesterday making a level online, map maker is so much better this time around. I made a pretty decent egyptian tomb type thing, just an experiment really to get used to all the new features and stuff. So if you have Xbox Live then you can download my magnificent creation called TheTombofTittikaka......don't ask
Some of the levels people have made that I've downloaded have been pretty damn amazing actually, some really imaginative and funky custom maps that I wouldn't have thought up in a million years.
It's an amazing game. One particular fav thing to do is Monkey Roadkill. Basically, make a wide-open racetrack with four buggies. One person gets into the buggy for three minutes, while the others have to run away and avoid being killed. Also works in Siberia.
All hail the Ninja Monkeys!
