Very weird to play this after Resi 4, I don't think you couldn't get two shooting games any more different from each other.
So far:
+ Lots of humour and little touches which made me smile
+ More Captain Ash
+ Looks and sounds alot better with alot more speech
+ The stats & character gallery are back, with some old favourites
+ Intimidatingly huge amount of Challenges etc. to do
+ Doesn't look like EA have messed around with FRD's game.
- Couple of framerate slowdowns
- Pathetically weak and short opening level (the demo level)
- I seem to be crap at Arcade league.
The opening Story Level is a let down, specially since the beginning of TSP2 threw you into the sublime Siberia level. But the next level is far better. And has Captain Ash who is hilarious :)
Oh, and in the extras section you can see the credits, which has Cortez going all Saturday Night Fever on a mirror-balled dance floor. The sign on the wall says "The Big Tipper". :D
A little help, if you plesh, gerrid
On the Story Classic Challenges, I can't seem to get past the second one, which is the one set in Vietnam. It's damn frustrating! I've failed a good few times, a problem of time rather than health. Is there any way to make the Splitters attack you faster?
I get to that gate across from where you pick up the lunchbox and then the Splitters attack. I go back down through the tunnel and a few times I couldn't find them ... another I killed them and couldn't get to the gate in time!
Any particular technique to this or any suggestions?
All help appreciated!
Just be ready to lose about 2 lives as the chimps on the balconies run out of energy, if you let the others go down your gonna fail, they're much more important
What did you get in the Electro Chimp Discomat gerrid?
For the Dancing Chimp level, your radar tells you the status of the chimps, so you can use that, it's easier to see than the little bars. Also, don't forget the monkeys on the balconies.

Where does the plasma autorifle spawn in Mars Prison?
I also got a platinum on the Monkey Thief in Mars Prison. Theres a room with some computers in in and two doors near one of the ramps in the corner of the level. I got the plasma autorifle and went in there, and shot + collected any monkeys who approached. Worked a treat.

Stay at the beginning of the level, I know you seem to randomly lose lives, but if you run around you fail.
Get into a nice position at the corner of the mat so you can see all the chimps. Keep on the move constantly, if a chimp goes below about 80% energy give him a top off.
Not too much energy mind, as he'll explode. Don't worry, a platinum is something like 4 or 5 minutes, I just kept going to see how long I could.

Yesterday, I took on three mates on Training Ground in assault, with two of them attacking and one person helping me defend. Unfortunatly, ash went on the wrong team and ended up trying to destroy the barrels and computers even though he was defending.
'tard.
