The bible was written a long time ago and was used as a way of controlling people. Ordinary people were scared of this thing known as God because they did not understand death. We still do not understand death but at least we understand life a little better.
God was used to explain the unexplainable but now we understand some of the unexplainable. We no longer need God like our ancesters. All we need is hope...
Human nature is destruction and the only thing that we should hope for is that we do not destroy the beautiful planet on which we live. We do not deserve the gifts we have but maybe one day we will be truely gateful for them...

That's the difference -

Scientists: Depending on who you listen to, it can be a few million to a few billion years.

Creationists: Nice, round, relatively small figure of 6000 years.

Good thing Creationists know the world is about 6000 years old.

This is true. These scientists are always arguing about it.

I meant 5 billion years until the Sun dies.

Alos, not saying Edgy is entirely wrong, but I heard nothing of a "wave" as such. I don't think the Sun is the right type of Star to become a nova.

All I heard was that it would swell into a red giant, before collapsing into a white dwarf, taking the inner planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars) with it in some way.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/1950403.stm, BBC has the world down as much older than that.

The thing I have observed is that Evolutionists don't know how old the universe is, Creationists believe it to be about 6000 years.
